IBTE Corporate Program
The Institute for Business, Technology, and Ethics
Through the IBTE Corporate Program, businesses have an opportunity to identify publicly with our mission of promoting good business through appropriate technology and sound ethics, and to gain access to valuable material. With the current concerns about corporate ethics, this identification can bring business value to the participant. We have developed some powerful new material entitled "Business Ethics for Business Value" that can help any company improve not only their perception in the marketplace, but their bottom line, and we have made it easier for sponsor companies to access this material. In turn, participant companies provide vital support to the Institute for Business, Technology, and Ethics (a 501 (c) (3) non profit corporation) for raising issues and offering solutions in this fast-paced business world.

Why Should Your Business Join the IBTE Corporate Program?
The Challenge
Businesses are dealing with several very challenging problems today. The continuous pace of change from information technology is a major factor in an increasingly cost-conscious business environment. The focus on security after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 has created economic pressure in a worldwide competitive market. The massive ethical failures in business in the early part of the 21st century has led to major distrust of business by the markets, the regulators, and the public.
The foundational values and ethics of a company and company leaders causes executives to want to "do something" about ethics. We agree something needs to be done, but we need an approach to business ethics that can bring bottom-line improvements, not just activity. It must bring value, not just cost.
The Opportunity
The IBTE was founded in 1998 to study the interrelationships of business, technology, and ethics. How can business thrive in the face of these rapid changes while maintaining its foundational values? Our mission is to promote good business through appropriate technology and sound ethics. We have been working carefully on this problem for four years, and have not simply patched together a program in response to the latest headlines.
We are committed to integration...
the analysis of business, technology, and ethics, all three domains together, as a key to corporate success and a healthy perspective on work.
We are committed to collaboration...
drawing people together from business, the professions, and academia, from around the world, into one conversation.
We are committed to practicality...
not just ivory tower, think tank ideas, but practical, workable strategies for concrete change in the workplace and marketplace.
We are committed to depth...
not superficial rhetoric and simplistic formulas, but serious, rigorous, thorough study of issues, trends and connections in business and technology, not just ethics as "damage control" or crisis management, but ethics as "mission control, as a value orientation woven into the mission and culture of whole organizations.

IBTE CONSULTING
IBTE Co-Founders Dr. Al Erisman and Dr. David Gill (together, individually, or with an IBTE consulting team) are available for consultation. The centerpiece of this consulting is to help companies achieve "Business Ethics for Business Value." We have developed tools to help companies in resolving ethical dilemmas. Beyond responding to crises, however, we have developed:
- a set of guidelines that establish the business basis for ethics throughout an organization,
- principles and practices that become the basis for improving organizational culture and business practices,
- an approach to turn business ethics from "fire fighting" and "damage control" into a new approach affecting the fabric of organizational culture and practices leading to fewer crises.
Our goal is to help companies improve their ethical environment leading to fewer crises, less "fire fighting," and greater business value
